How to make an appletini (apple martini) that hits just the right balance of natural sweetness and green apple tartness. Here's a recipe for a sparkly concoction.
Ingredients
• 1 ½ oz vodka • 1 tsp sour apple schnapps • Martinelli's sparkling apple cider, chilled* • 1 slice green apple for garnish
Directions
Prepare apple slices ahead of time: Slice mid-sections of green apples showing off the 5-point star in the core. This makes for a dazzling presentation. Store these slices in 7-UP to deter oxidation. Refrigerate until ready to use.
Shake the vodka and apple schnapps with ice. Strain into a martini glass. Fill the remainder of the glass with chilled sparkling apple cider.
(Note: Do not add sparkling apple cider before shaking—the carbonation will make a mess. Not like we've ever done that!)
Float one slice of green apple on top of your drink. Serve appletini and enjoy!
*Alternatively, try replacing sparkling apple cider with 100% natural apple juice and a splash of 7UP for a few bubbles.
